Rosy hyacinth orchid, pink hyacinth orchid

This terrestrial saprophyte grows in open eucalypt forest. Being a saprophyte, this orchid has no leaves but the flower stem is the only part which emerges above ground.

The flower stem grows to about 80 cm tall with up to 40 flowers about 25 mm across. The flowers are light pink with a few darker spots with recurved petals and sepals.

This orchid is similar to other pink Dipodiums but can be separated by its pale pink recurved petals and sepals and stripes on the labellum.
