Meetings
The monthly meeting consists of a main speaker, a casual verandah discussion session (while benched plants are being judged) followed by reports and general business. Guest speakers are invited to the meeting to speak on topics of interest.
Visitors are always welcome! It is a great place to learn and meet new friends.
Members can also join the Kabi Facebook Group, view photos and videos of native orchids, get the latest news and join in the popular vote.
When and Where Do We Meet?

Plant Judging
Members are encouraged to exhibit plants at the meetings (tabled prior the start of meeting between 19:00 and 19:20).
The plants are judged by ANOS judges who provide a commentary and group members participate in a popular vote.
The meetings are followed by supper, which allows time for a chat.
Other Activities
Bush House Visits
Kabi organises bush house visits to some of our members. It’s an opportunity to learn about their growing setup, advices given to other members for better orchid growing, and to buy plant. The visits are concluded with a BYO lunch.
Bus Day Trips
Other social activities include bus day trips to orchid shows and events in SE QLD as well as longer trips to special events at more distant locations. A proud feature of the Kabi Calendar is the annual Australia Day barbeque function and is free to members and invited guests.
