Pterostylis acuminata

Sharp greenhood, pointed greenhood

This terrestrial orchid grows in moist areas of open forests around Brisbane. It is locally common and forms large colonies of plants where the conditions are right.

The rosette has up to 6 stalked leaves to about 45 mm by 20 mm. The flower stem to about 25 cm tall with the flower 20 mm tall. The flower is translucent with green and white stripes and fawn towards the tip.

This species can be readily identified by its green and white flower with a long fine labellum tip.
